Further assitance for compost producers
Remade East is funded by the East if England Development Agency to provide technical advice to compost producers with the aim of:- Increasing reprocessing capacity and the development of new products.
- Encouraging the adoption of good operational practices.
- Expanding existing businesses, new start-ups and spin-outs.
- Promoting the manufacture of quality compost products of a consistent standard, by assisting businesses to adopt nationally recognised, accredited systems for the manufacture of composted products.
- Encouraging a closer working relationship between producers and end users of compost products in the EEDA region.
- Encouraging the adoption of good business practices in support of Business Link through complementary services.
To meet these aims Remade East provide the following services:
- Sector Specific Marketing - Remade East provide advice and guidance on how to best adapt marketing plans for the desired end market and to reach target audience and increase business. Remade East has provided guidance to companies with regard to specific elements of a marketing plan including telesales and website development.
- Commercial development - Technical assistance on business planning, product development and operational efficiencies.
- Access to finance - Guidance and signposting on external funding and technical assistance on applications to Regional Research and Development Funds and other applications. Access to investment contacts.
- Researching new end markets - Identifying and guidance, on access, and guidance to new end markets.
- PAS 100/Quality Protocol Support - Remade East is trialling the provision of an additional two days support for companies applying for PAS100 Certification, on top of that available from The Composting Association for the compost manufacturing standard PAS100. Remade East also offers a further 1 days support for Quality Protocol.

The East of England Composter Forum
Remade East in association with The Composting Association has established the East of England Composter Forum. This meeting takes place every 6 months and provides a platform for discussion and debate on hot topics relevant to the composting industry. Demonstration projects
Remade East is demonstrating the benefits of using compost in agricultural applications, through field trials. The field trials are researching the benefits of applying compost to high value crops such as salads and potatoes.

Topsoil toolkit
Remade East provides compost producers with access to the topsoil toolkit. Originally developed by Remade Essex through WRAP funding this tool provides a guide to optimise the mixing of poor quality soils and sand with compost.
