Datashredders is a small family run confidential waste paper destruction company operating for nearly seven years.
Established in 2000 with the procurement of a second hand lorry and a shredder mounted on board the vehicle. Datashredders developed to provide on-site shredding of confidential waste paper and the subsequent recycling of the waste paper.
The business went from strength to strength and in 2003 Datashredders purchased a used baling press creating financial savings through increased efficiency in the baling and shipping of the material, to the paper mills. Where the paper would be processed and the raw material, typically, manufactured in to tissues products. The purchase of the baler was followed by the purchase of a new purpose built shredding truck, to service Datashredders growing client list.
The destruction of confidential material is a diligent process in a niche market, one in which traditionally material has not been recycled, as such the fact Datashredders recycle all the waste paper is not common among shredding companies.
In 2005 Datashredders identified an opportunity to expand on its core confidential waste destruction business and develop the recycling element of its business.
In January 2006 Datashredders started using its baling facilities to recycle cardboard; another truck was also purchased for the purpose of collecting waste cardboard as well as the paper. This was a time of expansion as in March 2006 Datashredders purchased a new shredding truck.
Datashredders have experienced significant growth over the last couple of years, which resulted in an investment in 2006 of over £175, 000.00. In order to continue the expansion and take advantage of the vast opportunities within the recycling industry the business plan required further investment.
